Transcript Request (Instructions)
- If you need to order a court proceeding from a court reporter, or if you would like a copy of a previously produced transcript, you may contact the official court reporter directly. If you need to order a transcript of a court proceeding that was digitally recorded, you must contact Shelia Foell at 252-830-2330.
- To determine if there was a court reporter or whether the proceeding was digitally recorded, you may access the docket sheet through PACER or at the public terminal located in the clerk's office. The court reporter's name and contact information is located in the 'minute' docket entry indicating that a proceeding was held. If the proceeding was recorded, the docket entry will reflect that the hearing was recorded with FTR Gold.
- Before contacting Shelia Foell, please have the following information ready:
- Case number
- Defendant Name (in a criminal case)
- Presiding Judge (if known)
- Date of proceeding
- If you need a copy of a transcript that has been filed with the court, subject to Judicial Conference Policy, you may access the transcript through PACER or at the public terminal located in the clerk's office. The transcript is available for copying on PACER at the rate of $.10 per page or at the clerk's office it can be printed at the rate of $.10 per page. Please note, that the $3.00 cap does not apply to transcripts.
